Perhaps once worn by her husband... or one of her sons: a mourning ring for Margaret Walker OB 3 May 1798 AE 39, which is hand engraved around the band and inside there are hallmarks for London 1797, the head of George III and a maker's mark 'TM' possibly for Thomas Meriton.
Margaret would have been born in 1759 and sadly only lived to the age of 39. We are still searching to find some more information about her but it is tricky when the name is not so uncommon.
Of gorgeous solid 18ct Gold, the band measures 6.46mm wide and is a ring size 'U' or '10.25'. We have had the worn black enamel replaced by our skilled enameller to highlight the poignant message.
